"Made in Japan" vs Taiwan
TYPES OF DISTORTION
Analog vs. Digital
Analog delays have a more natural & softer sound than digital delays.
Analog delays tend to work better (than digital delays) in front of an amp whereas digital delays can slightly "digitize" your signal.
However, analog delays have shorter delay times.
REPLEX by Hughes & Kettner
The Replex is an analog tube-based modern emulation of the venerable classic Echoplex.
Replex has "single head" & "two head" footswitch. Also a decent reverb function.
(Please excuse the extremely poor temporary video.)
"Digital" Delay isn't necessarily a bad thing for the Classic Rock Guitarist.
A digital unit usually has longer delays, more repeats, maybe a "tap" capability, & maybe a loop capability.
