Hello & Welcome to the Site of Tone Tips & Hints for players dedicated to Classic Rock Guitar!

This information is intended for the "everyday guy" (or girl!) who enjoys playing Classic Rock Guitar & is interested in picking up another bit or two of information.  You may be in a "bar band", play the occasional public gig, or just enjoy jamming with friends.
We can all learn at least a little something from everyone, even from a "beginner".  I'm sure I'll learn many things from you as this site matures.
Just what IS Classic Rock Guitar?
While there is no official definition, for the purposes of this Site, we'll define it as guitar-based music primarily from the 60's & 70's.  Of course, there's more to it than that, but that's an easy "short" definition.
Some obvious examples are the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, the Allman Brothers, Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, etc.  Stevie Ray Vaughan was also firmly in the "Classic Rock" camp, even though the peak of his popularity was in the 80s.  Also, early 60s "Surf" music could be considered very early Classic Rock.
Elvis & other early "Rock & Roll" acts, while definitely classic, will not be discussed here for the most part.  Also 80s "Hair Band" music is beyond the scope of this website.

I hope you enjoy the site & find it useful!
